Do You Have Hip or Knee Pain?

Are you:

Over the age of 50 ?

Pain in the hips or knees?

Joint stiffness lasting 30 mins in the morning?

Crackling/grinding sound in the joints with movement?

Bony tenderness?

“You may be suffering from osteoarthrities – and it doesn’t have to be this way forever“

What is osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis (OA) occurs when the joint is inflammed and deterioriates over time, surpassing the body’s ability for the body to repair itself. Progressively due to pain in the joint, it can also affect the surrounding tissue health of bone, ligaments and muscles, creating a vicious cycle which worsen the symptoms.

“Identify the contributing factors early and end the vicious cycle of pain, taking charge of your quality of life“

Osteoarthritis prevention and treatment options

There is no immediate cure for OA. However, having a customised and individualised management plan for yourself can help to reduce further flare ups which can result in further joint deterioriations. Joint replacement surgery options should only be of the last resort if your quality of life is significantly impacted. In fact, a proportion of patients still experiences pain postoperatively after a year (1).

It’s been well-known in the medical scientific community that exercise and weight loss management are most effective in management osteoarthritis (2). Yet, you may wonder how to even get started when pain is a barrier to doing more for yourself.
